• Our Name

Every glance at the sewing machine was a connection to family during a time that kept people apart.

My sewing machine originally belonged to my Gran, June.  She is extraordinary with all things handmade; children’s clothes, toys, blankets, the list is endless.

My Grampa is a strong pillar in the family.  But today, he deals with dementia related health issues. His most loved past time is bird watching.  So as a tribute, name JuneBird was created.

  • Our Story

If you’re like me, a parent that is troubled by the amount short use and “disposable” toys on the market, then you are in the right place.

Children's toys and accessories can be quite expensive, especially given how quickly children develop physically and cognitively.

Families need more affordable, sustainable and local options than ever before when purchasing for their babies and children.

Upcycling textiles to make baby and children's toys and accessories gives people the option. Fabrics are also diverted from landfills, giving them a fresh lease on life.

At the outset of the pandemic, I was at a loss regarding how to procure things needed to comfort a newborn baby, while also attempting to meet the demands of a developing toddler. Then it dawned on me; I could use garments from around the house that have been outgrown and worn out! Despite my postpartum challenges, I was motivated when I came up with the concept of crafting products out of upcycled textiles

We invite you to have a look around and discover what has been created!

  • Our Mission

Sustainability.  Children’s clothes are often worn out before they are out grown. Small stains and rips means the clothes are often simply discarded to a landfill.  We take these clothes and use as much as we can in creating our products, giving the fabrics a new life.

Mental Health.  The COVID-19 pandemic is (was) a difficult time for everyone.  Many parents and caregivers struggled, and lived each day in survival mode. It’s ok to not be ok. We hope to help normalized the conversation around mental health, and support local mental health resources.

Inspiration.  We hope to inspire others to talk, to create, and be kind to themselves.  Whether you share your passion with the world, or keep it close to yourself, do what you love and be inspired!
